Just the other side of Castle Donington from Hemington, the North West Leicestershire village of Wilson would make a great pit stop on a cycling tour of the area.

The Bull's Head pub is renowned locally for its quality food and drink, and the attractive South Derbyshire market town of Melbourne is just a short additional cycle - or walk - away, too.

From there, you can continue your journey, either back into Leicestershire, with a visit to the Ferrers Centre at Staunton Harold Hall, or to to National Trust property Calke Abbey.
